Still not losing

Well, I have gained some over the summer. I am now back at 210 lbs this morning. This has to change. The lifestyle has to change to reflect how I would like to feel. I will be stepping up the good food eating and stopping the junk. I am no longer a Junk food vegan!

Also, it is time again to start running. Around-the-bay maybe in the cards this year. I don't want to call it too soon.

Please let me know any of the tips and tricks you may use and I will see what makes sense for me!

Running to new levels

Well, it is now 2009 and I am running to new levels. I have completed 16+ miles and my training is going well. I had a very bad run this past weekend, however, I am sure it is because we went away and my training got messed up. I am now under 200lbs. and seem to be holding in the 198 to 199 with 16% fat.

Almost 2 full years

Okay, almost two full years since my last post. We are again, focused and back at it. The 185 challenge is still on. Although, I am now starting from 209 lbs. and 15.5% body fat. I am training for around the bay road race (30K running race). I am quite comfortable on my bicycle, however, running long distances is new to me. We will have to see how it goes. I am back on medication for cholesterol medication (Crestor) and Niaspan, but my last reading was better than normal. I am still eating vegan as well. That is all for now, but I intend on posting much more often than before.

It has been a long time!

Ok, I realize that it has been a long time since I have made a posting. Eric took the gold in the Thanksgiving challenge! Congratulations Eric, well done! As we didn't hit are ultimate target, a new challenge is on. We need to have a maintained weight of less than 190 lbs buy Christmas.

As of September 10th, 2006, I made the move to a vegan diet. It wasn’t that big a move for me as I have been slowly cutting back on meat and dairy anyway.

My weight as of today is:

Nov. 23, 2006 JASON 191.8 24.9%

Look out Eric, I am on a roll! Good luck!

Swim Swim Swim

I doubled up yesterday afternoon with a long swim 128x25 approximately 2 miles in 1 hour and 15 minutes. This was a fast swim for me and I can tell this morning when I got back in the pool for another 64x20 approximately 1 mile in 45 minutes, much much slower. I also was able to do some weights last night 100 lbs. x 12 x 5 or approximately 6000 lbs. Funny how you can display the numbers differently!

27-Sep-2006 JASON 202.4 27.6%

This weigh in was after swimming and breakfast. I cooked congee today for breakfast and had my green drink with some fruit and lots of water. When I first got up I weighed 201 lbs and I don't remember the %, it was only a few minutes after 6:00am.

A new lifestyle

Well, I have completely made over my eating habits. Since the 17th of September, I have been focused on a Vegan meal plan. This plan excludes meats, fish, dairy, and all the derivatives. I make sure I get my protein each day, manly through beans and legumes, but also some protein powder along the way. I am exercising regularly with swimming at least 3 (64x25) times a week and weights 3 (12x12x100) times a week and walking in between. We also strive to get up early, 6:00am, to have the swimming and/or walking done in the early morning. The early rising has enabled me to start the day with a much better breakfast than I ever have before. This really helps me maintain a regular meal schedule. I am watching my calories still and have reduced them to maintain weight loss. I am a little surprised that I having lost more but I do feel slimmer and healthier.

Sept. 26, 2006 JASON 203.0 26.5%

My body fat coming down to me may be a sign of muscle gain offsetting the weight loss.

On July 25, 2006 I had 61.02 lbs of body fat. Today I have 53.8 lbs of body fat. So I have lost 7.22 lbs of body fat in 70 days or .10 lbs. per day. I did have the trip in the middle which didn’t help these numbers. The day I am really comparing to as a start date is September 5th when we came back from vacation.

Here are the numbers from the 5th of September. 211.8 lbs with 30.2% body fat or 63.96 lbs. of body fat. Now only 22 days later, I have lost 8.8 lbs and 10.16 lbs of body fat. I don’t think it means I have put on 1.36 lbs of muscle but it does look better. This is .46 lbs of body fat every day on average. Oh, and the 203 today is with a full breakfast in me compared to the September number which was on empty!

working hard

Well, I am back in the pool again 50x25. As well we have purchased a new vita mix blender which has led to a lot of health sounding, bad tasting drinks. No really the drinks are great! I am back watching carefully what I eat, no junk extras.

At least I seem to be headed in the right direction. I am still optimistic that I can reach the goal. Focus Focus Focus.
